Hello world.
This is a self-portrait of me and my beard. We are sad because it had been 481 days that I had gone without In & Out. I didn't think I'd feel withdrawals ever since quitting smoking but this was way worse.
So, now you know 2 things about me: I love In & Out and I used to smoke. I no longer have "le beard" but I keep it scrappy. And as far as scrappy goes, I'm a Sr Product Designer at a scrappy start-up working in the very complex and fascinating world of AI and ML (machine learning). I am suffering from "imposter syndrome" and have no idea how I've made it out this far but I'm going to enjoy the ride for as long as I can. If you happen to know me personally and have stumbled upon this, you're in the same boat as me: the Titanic and we're the band that's going down with the ship.
I am thankful for my wife who keeps me in check (like a prison guard) and my toddler son who have seem to have taken the best parts of my wife and I and forgotten about them.
But in all seriousness, I am grateful for the life I have and the life I will be living because I know who I am not because of what I do or who I know or how much "stuff" or money I have but because I find my identity in Christ and Christ alone. And with that perspective, I can brave the world with eyes towards giving my best, what I'm made to do... which I'm still figuring out but we'll get there.
